Are you tired of being misunderstood, but also tired of hiding?
Is life hard for you in a way that most people don’t seem to get?
Have you had trouble connecting with Therapy in the past?
…or been reluctant to try?
LEt’s make something new happen

Hi, I’m Jennifer
My brain, with its impressive power and speed, has drawn me to a deep interest in therapy and neurodivergence for as long as I can remember. This brain also has worn brakes, and a testy transmission, which has made some “easy” things hard over the years. I used to spend a lot of energy struggling with how I operate, hiding from my senses, and trying to be something I am not. In that struggle, I was filled with symptoms, many of which I now work with in my practice. When I dropped that struggle, and put my efforts towards meaningful shifts and accommodations, I experienced freedom, creativity, and courage that have allowed me to build a life I love. It’s not a perfect life, and I am still in development. I am committed to showing up as my authentic self, without judgment of wherever you are in your development. In a great relationship, we find ease and collaborate well, and sometimes we laugh. But we also misunderstand each other and work through repair. If we can do that, we can influence transformation and make way for freedom.

Why “Just Right?”
“Just right” is a theme of OCD, in which the pursuit of just-right experiences gets in the way of priorities, health, and relationships. It’s also an experience neurodivergent people long for, because our nervous systems and thoughts are so often seeking peace or a flow state. Neurodivergent people often feel out of place or uncomfortable, and it makes sense they would put efforts into feeling “just right.” Our society brings a lot of demands and aversive stimuli upon us. I treat OCD, including just-right OCD. You deserve to feel good, not to be stuck in an endless feedback loop.
Many excellent OCD therapists don’t feel confident working with ADHD and autism, and many neurodivergent-affirming therapists don’t feel confident working with OCD, despite these conditions having a large overlap. If you have OCD+autism or OCD+ADHD, or all 3, then I want you to know I am not baffled by you. Therapy can be a just right experience - without the compulsions part.
My experience and Values
California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #90560
Values that lead my work include: curiosity, compassion, and rigor. I have a warm and direct style. Some of my super skills include seeing patterns, feeling empathy and channeling it into healing action, and embodying deep, infectious compassion. Central to my life is my family and being a parent to an elementary student who is neurodivergent like me. My current passionate interests include landscape gardening, cooking, biking, climate action, and interior design. And, of course, neurodiversity.
Clinical Experience
I graduated from my Masters program at JFK University in 2013 and became licensed in 2015. I completed my supervision requirements in 2017.
Prior to starting my own business, I worked for 4 years at a fantastic group practice, MindfulSF, where my clinical work was focused on OCD. I became interested in the overlap between OCD and ADHD and Autism in the last few years and offered training and groups in these specialties while at MindfulSF.
From 2016-2021, I was a trainer, clinical manager and supervisor for an evidence-based practice (MDFT) for adolescents and their families at Lincoln Families in Oakland, CA.
Earlier in my career, I served as a therapist in a variety of clinical roles in crisis support and school-based programs. At the start of my career, I was a special education teacher and inclusion facilitator for autistic students.
I also have a MFA in creative writing and love working with writers and creatives.
